In the afternoon we meet in Budapest . A boutique city full of incredible architecture, bathhouses and some of the most unique bars and clubs anywhere in the world. We spend the night in this epic city getting to know our fellow Beats Travellers and preparing for the festival journey ahead.
Today we head for the big one. EXIT Festival is held in the small city of Novi Sad an hour or two from Belgrade, Serbia. Being recently named one of the top 3 cities to visit in the world, this 2019’s European Youth capital is the perfect location to spend during EXIT Festival. With artisan bars and outdoor cafes, this is one happening city. EXIT Festival itself has been up and running since 2000 and each year gets progressively bigger and better. Not only is it held in a fortress above the Danube River, but it has also played host to a number of big names that will blow your mind.
Today it is time to explore Belgrade and see what this beautiful and damaged city is all about, delving into some of the grand Serbian history at Belgrade’s Kalemegdan Fortress among other amazing attractions. In the afternoon you have the option to attend an underground walking tour and get the chance to see Belgrade through the eyes of a young local. At night, you have the option to head out on the town, or simply rest up for the festival ahead; whatever you choose, we will be on hand to guide you.
Belgrade; a city whose rich underground culture is in full flight. From the artistic and political graffiti that colour the streets, to the amazing nightlife that in our eyes rivals Berlin, we delve deep into its cultural core. We will begin by introducing you to some famous home-made Rakija: a Balkan drink that is sure to become a good friend of yours. Later, we head down to the Sava River to experience what Serbia is really about with some delicious traditional cuisine before making our way to the river barges.
It’s time to say goodbye to your Beats Travel family to continue your European adventure or return home. For those of you heading back to Budapest we have a shuttle included in the experience.
Exit festival was founded in 2000, originally as a student movement, fighting for freedom and democracy in Serbia. Set within the Petrovaradin Fortress in the city of Novi Sad, Serbia, Exit’s grounds are a spectacle within itself. More than 2.5 million people from over 60 countries around the world have visited the festival so far. Known for it’s incredible atmosphere, and one of the best dance arenas around the world, not to mention it’s unique location, it offers visitors the most exciting and versatile summer adventure.
